Is it your first visit?

To make sure that we’re providing you with the right kind of help, it’s important that you come prepared to your first consultation. Ideally, you should bring with you information about your current complaint and past medical history. Any information that you can provide about your lifestyle (i.e. sports, hobbies etc) will also help.

All consultations last between 25 – 30 minutes – the first consultation is priced at £47 and all subsequent consultations at £39.

What to expect during your first visit

An osteopath will begin by asking about your health and medical history. This will be followed by a physical examination, which pays particular attention to your posture, gait, mobility and musculoskeletal anatomy. Because we view the body holistically, you will be asked to undress to your underwear for the examination and treatment. This is because the cause of the condition
often originates from other regions of the body e.g. osteopaths consider that an altered knee gait may result in neck pain which can lead to headaches.

Following diagnosis, a treatment and management plan will be discussed and agreed with you. Treatment techniques could include massage, articulation, lymphatic drainage, manipulation of joints or gentle balancing techniques and cranial osteopathy.
